Tour 3: Horseback Riding and Great Falls (Poconos and NJ)

 

 

We will start our tour at 7:00 am in midtown Manhattan, 8th Avenue between 33rd and 34th Street (by Duane Reade) DON'T BE LATE! Come 15 minutes early to check in. You will be greeted by your tour guide for the day. You will sign our liability waiver, and after departure a light breakfast will be served on board the coach. (On this tour an additional waiver from the farm has to be signed as well)

On our first stop you will experience the second most powerful waterfall on the east cost, the 77 foot Great Falls of the Passaic River. Second to only Niagara Falls. This water fall was the base for the first major water power system in the United States and is located in a National Historic District.

 

 

We will then drive to the foothill of the Pocono Mountains where we visit one of the largest and oldest working dude ranches is United States.

On the ranch, you will have the option of several activities; the main activity is of course horseback riding. You will have the opportunity of no less than 2 trail rides, one before lunch and one after lunch. The trail ride is led by an experienced rider who will see to your safety and point out some of the interesting nature along the way.

 

 

The trails will lead you through pristine woods and meadows and wildlife viewing is very likely as well. This trail ride is both for experienced and inexperienced riders.

At the ranch you can also enjoy activities such as: Archery, A Swimming Pool, Row Boats, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Horseshoes and a Riffle Range (You pay for your own bullets)

 

  

We will drive back to NYC.

Arrival back to NYC at approximately 7 pm.

 

 

Hines Tours reserves the right to alter the itinerary, plans and arrangements for the tour, if in the judgment of Hines Tours it becomes advisable to do so.

What to bring and wear on the tour:

ID: Do to heightened national security; you will need to bring a valid identification.

CLOTHES: According to the weather, For the trail ride you must wear long pants and closed shoes, helmet will be provided for you. Bring swim wear and a towel if you want to swim.

WATER: In a plastic bottle, especially on hot days. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

MOSQUITO REPELLANT containing deet

CAMERA: With extra film/memory highly recommended. You will experience breath taking scenery.

SUN SCREEN:  Especially on sunny days.

CASH: Although our tour is classified as an "all inclusive". It is advisable to bring some cash for souvenirs and gratuities for the guide which is left to your discretion.
